Where we paint in London
Interior and exterior decorating across London. Heritage rules can affect exterior colour choices.
Painting across London
We decorate homes and small commercial spaces in every London borough.
London’s period homes are full of mouldings, sash windows and stucco, which reward careful preparation and the right products.

Exterior painting and Article 4
Painting the outside of a building is normally permitted development under Part 2, Class C of the General Permitted Development Order 2015. Councils can withdraw that right with an Article 4 direction, for example in a conservation area. [1]
Listed homes
Historic England counts 8,511 listed homes in London, and 90% of them are in a conservation area. Changing the colour or finish of a listed building in a way that affects its character can need listed building consent. [2] [3]
Period woodwork
More than a quarter of London homes date from before 1919, according to the GLA. Sash windows, panelled doors and railings are common, so preparation takes up most of the time on a job. [4]
